A Message from the President

When our kids see us involved, it boosts their sense of family pride, and they feel like a bigger part of the Heritage Heights community.

The start of another Heritage Heights Elementary school year is here. It is an exciting time for kids and parents. Some parents are sending their child off to school for the first time, and others watch as their children step up to a new grade. It is here we start our children on the road toward their future endeavors, yet unknown, but filled with endless possibilities. We as parents or guardians are in the driver’s seat—for now anyway. Our job is to guide each of our children towards the exploration and realization of their own unique potential. And, there is no better place to do it than at Heritage Heights. Our outstanding teachers and administrative staff, supported by the direction of our principal, Scott Wolf, provide opportunities for our children’s academic and personal growth year after year.

The Heritage Heights Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is here to provide resources and support for our parents and school staff with the primary goal of benefiting our children. We’ve set our goals as follows:

Heritage Heights PTA GOALS

1.     Increase family involvement at school events.
2.     Encourage parents to actively participate in their child’s learning.
3.     Provide parents with meaningful tools for raising children.
4.      “Give back” to our Heritage Heights teachers by supporting their individual initiatives.
5.     Maintain a financially solvent PTA.

Please bookmark the Heritage Heights website and our PTA page so you can check in often to find out about events, activities and up-to-date news at Heritage Heights. We also have a PTA Facebook page that we invite you to join. Here’s our link: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pages/Heritage-Heights-PTA/184530885717?ref=ts

Would you consider joining us? Check out our PTA Meeting dates on this page. We love hearing about new ideas. Sure, we dosome typical fundraisers and family activities…but let’s reenergize with some new events! Let’s shake up the PTA norms and get creative with ways to support our children and our school. Spend as much or as little time as you desire…but please spend some time involved with the PTA. When our kids see us involved, it boosts their sense of family pride, and they feel a bigger part of the Heritage Heights community.

Thank you… and we are looking forward to meeting you!

Patti Merrifield
President, Heritage Heights PTA

Parent Volunteers Make A Difference

The goal of the Heritage Heights Elementary School Volunteer Program is to enable interested parents and other citizens from the community to assist teachers and others chool personnel, in helping children to fully develop their skills, their potential as individuals and in their mastery of subject matter.

We have the best volunteer program anywhere.  Each year over 90 parents and friends serve as volunteers annually.  Volunteer applications are sent out in September. Parents and special friends can volunteer to assist in school, on field trips and at home.

As per the Sweet Home district policy, a volunteer application has to be complete for each volunteer. This includes room parents and chaperones on field trips. We want to encourage parents and other citizens from the community to assist teachers and other school personnel in helping children reach their potential.  Interested volunteers should call the school office. All volunteers to our school must sign in at the office before going to any other part of the building. Click here to view our volunteer handbook.
